British Cycling can today announce the riders selected to represent the Great Britain Cycling Team at the 2024 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships 17-21 December, in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Heading up the elite men’s BMX Freestyle Park squad will be current world champion Kieran Reilly. After taking his first world title in sensational style in Glasgow last year, Reilly’s success has continued to skyrocket as he won a silver medal at his debut Olympic Games in Paris this summer. The world championships will see him attempt to round off a fantastic season with a title defense
Joining Reilly to represent their country on the world stage will be previous national champion Jude Jones and teammate Shaun Gornall.
Newcomer Jordan Clark will compete at his first urban world championships having stormed onto the competitive scene this year to take the national series win, having previously been five-time world champion in scootering. Also joining him will be Dylan Hessey and 19-year-old debutant Reef Way, who placed third at this year’s national championships.
Heading up the elite women’s squad will be Sasha Pardoe who took both the national and European titles earlier this year in her best season so far. Joining her will be up and coming talents Holly Pipe and debutant Elsa Rendall-Todd who placed fourth in her first elite European championships this summer.
Kieran Reilly said: “Since winning my first world title at a home world championships in Glasgow in 2023, I’ve had some incredible experiences and achieved a dream of winning an Olympic medal this summer.
“I’m excited for the world championships, our final event of 2024. After a fantastic season, this is an amazing opportunity for me to become the first male back to back world champion and that’s my goal going to Abu Dhabi.”

“BMX Freestyle Park is a discipline that is growing in popularity and standard year on year and I’m really proud that our athletes are consistently at the forefront of this movement. Kieran Reilly has been a standout athlete in the sport this year, culminating in a silver medal at the Olympic Games this summer. He is a fantastic advocate for the sport, and he has worn the rainbow stripes with pride, so it will be fantastic to see how he performs and if he can take the title for another year.
“Our women’s pathway is incredibly promising, with Sasha and Elsa positioned in the top five at this summer’s European championships. They represent the next generation of female BMX riders and it will be exciting to see what they deliver on the world stage – they are definitely ones to watch!”
Competing for Great Britain in the trials world championships will be 11-time world champion Jack Carthy alongside Andrei Burton, Charlie Rolls and Oliver Weightman (26” elite men) and Adam Morewood, Ethan Pyle and Callum Sherwood (20” elite).
