Great Britain Cycling Team stars will return to the London 2012 Olympic velodrome for the final round of the 2013/14 Revolution series on 14-15 March.
The season swansong will feature a special Great Britain vs Rest of the World competition, with Olympians Andy Tennant and Ed Clancy taking part, while Olympic champion Laura Trott will make her first return to the Lee Valley VeloPark venue since the Games for the UCI women’s omnium.
"I haven't competed at the London velodrome since the Games, so it's going to be nice,” said Trott, who won two gold medals at London 2012, in the omnium and team pursuit.
“It's still really fresh because obviously that's where the Olympics were. I'm really excited, and it's an omnium, finally!"
Ed Clancy and Andy Tennant will partner up for the GB vs Rest of the World Madison and will compete against some of the world’s top Madison specialists – including UIV Cup winners Didier Caspers and Melvin van Zilj.
Olympic sprint champion Jason Kenny will also make his competitive return to London in the UCI sprint competition.
“London is a very special velodrome obviously,” said Kenny, “Because of the Olympics being there, the atmosphere is amazing... It'll be a good experience, I'm looking forward to going back and hopefully re-living a few memories."
Olympic team pursuit champions Dani King and Joanna Rowsell are also scheduled to take part, Rowsell fresh from collecting two world titles in the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Cali, Colombia.
Action is spread across two days and three sessions, with racing beginning at 7pm on Friday with the UCI women’s omnium and ending on Saturday at 10:30pm with the men’s team sprint.
The finale will also see the culmination of the Elite Championships and HOY Future Stars competitions.
The final event of the series will be streamed live on organiser Face Partnership’s YouTube channel.
Face Partnership director James Pope said “We wanted to do something extra for this special event, and make sure the action is available to watch for as many people as possible.
“There’s a significant global audience for Revolution Series considering the international rider line-ups, so YouTube is the perfect place to show it.”
