Felix English (Rapha Condor-JLT) secured victory in the Otley Grand Prix, a round of the 2013 Elite Circuit Series, after clipping off the front of a leading group of six riders.

The 20-year-old from East Sussex was part of the decisive move which went clear after around two-thirds of the race, which was witnessed by an enthusiastic crowd in the West Yorkshire town.

Team Raleigh’s Tom Moses proved active throughout the race, the Yorkshireman keen to put on a show in his own back yard, and an early break from the 21-year-old signalled his intentions.

It was no surprise therefore, that when the break of six escaped he was part of it, alongside George Atkins (100 Per Cent ME), Toby Horton (UK Youth), Dan Barry (Node 4) and Andrew Hawdon (Wheelbase).

The break gained around a minute at their peak, but as the race neared its conclusion they began to jostle for position and the bunch closed quickly.

Moses made a lone bid for glory with two laps to go, but was reeled in by Atkins and it was English who took the win, Horton and Hawdon finishing second and third respectively.

English crossed the line alone in the finishing straight in a rare outcome for the Otley circuit.
