Luke Dunbar (Team Greenover) broke away from the main bunch on the last climb to take a comfortable victory in the Colin Carfield Road Race in Priddy, Somerset on Sunday.
The course consisted of four climbs and as the race wore on, they became shorter and shorter. The race began in rainy conditions with a heavy cross wind lashing over the riders.
Every time the riders completed a climb, they would sit up on the flat, waiting for the next one to come and this saw the race fragment.
As the final climb came into view, Dunbar made his move and opened up a gap of over a minute on the next group of eight riders.
The rest of the field trailed well behind but Dunbar was clear of the chasers as he crossed the line. Tony Kiss (Dynamic Bicycles UK) was next, leading from Ben Davies (Bristol RC).
Andrew Feather (Exeter Wheelers) finished sixth overall but was also crowned King of Mountains. There was also a prize for Mitchell Webber (Primera Specialised) who was first junior and 15th overall.
