Location: Fraddon, St Columb Major, Cornwall
Event: 2 June 2013
Report: Snowdon Sports
Devon strongman Peter Vincent (Twenty3c.co.uk-Focus) took the honours at the head of an 11-man break in Newquay Velo’s 60-mile Fraddon Grand Prix which was run off in near-perfect Atlantic coast weather.
The warm conditions sparked the field into life from the off with the NFTO squad especially prominent, but it was local boy Brennan Townsend (Madison Genesis) who took the first lap prime and a hamper of local Cornish produce kindly donated by Kingsley Village.
The race then settled down with a lead group of 11 riders who pushed on to establish a six-minute advantage going into the last lap as the heat and two testing climbs on each lap took a toll.
NFTO had three riders at the front, but Vincent had the legs in the final charge to cross the line ahead of Ryan Bevis (NFTO) for his first win of the season with third place going to Alex Murison (Equipe CML) ahead of James Williams (Spin Rotor Primal C), who took the award for the most combative rider.
