Paramount CRT rider David Griffiths proved victorious in the Stourbridge CC Road Race, staged on the Astley circuit in Worcestershire on Sunday.
The 36-year-old from Oswestry sprinted to the win at the head of a six-rider group which had clipped off the front of the bunch on the last of five laps of the undulating Astley circuit.
Veteran Phil Mason (Climb On Bikes) took second spot, while the 48-year-old from Forthampton was just inches ahead of Sutton Coldfield-based Simon Alexander (Bush Healthcare) in the push for the line.
Behind the leading six riders Mike Jones, the Paramount CRT veteran who has proven prolific on this course over the years, led in the bunch, around ten seconds behind.
A field of around 70 riders tackled the popular course, which was greeted by good conditions, although a breeze didn’t help riders tackle the challenging circuit.
Fifth overall, Birmingham rider Connor O’Brien (Cult Racing) was first third cat rider in a second category race.
