James Gullen (Metaltek-Scott ) secured his first victory in this season’s CDNW Criterium League, winning round six staged at the Preston Arena on Thursday evening.
The 22-year-old from Leeds held off Carnforth’s Jack Pullar, while another Metaltek-Scott rider, Simon Wilson, took third.
While it was Gullen’s first victory of the series so far, for team-mate Wilson it was a third appearance on the podium after he won the second round and crossed the line third in round three.
Second place was Pullar’s best finish so far, although he did take third spot on the fourth round last month.
In the supporting race for 3/4 cat riders, the Isle of Man’s Alex Kinvig took the win ahead of Ellis Kirkbride (Border City Wheelers).
