Event: 3rd May 2011
Promoted by: Team Royal London 360 Isle of Man
Venue: National Sports Centre, Douglas, Isle of Man
Report: Dot Tilbury
Event details

There was another large entry of 329 riders for round four of Team Royal Lordayndon 360 Isle of Man's youth league, staged at the National Sports Centre last Tuesday night in sunny but chilly conditions. The novices took to the track first with Peter Lloyd just holding off the fast finishing Shannon Moore and impressive newcomer Rebecca Walmsley to maintain his unbeaten record. Joseph Corlett beat Jemma Quayle to the line for fourth and Joseph Devereau was too strong for Sophie Keen in the dash for sixth. Orry Wilson led chasers Lewin Scarffe, Luke Sutton, Rebecca Cooil and Archie Dunn home for eighth.

In the born 2006 & later category Zachary Dowson notched up his second success of the series ahead of Corey Peters and Jack Keenan, the winners of rounds three and two respectively. Ivan Sorby, Cian Jackson and Drystan Sewell completed the top six, with Sophie Smith grabbing the girls' prize in 15th spot.

Niall Colquitt rode clear of a breakaway group of four riders to secure a comfortable victory in the born 2005 class. Harry Kneen edged out top girl Mairi Harrison for second place and Nathan Cannell came through from the main chasing bunch to pip Aaron Christian for fourth. Jacob O'Boyle rounded off the top six leader board.

Bagging maximum points for the fourth week running, Zac Walker rode everyone off his wheel in the born 2004 race. Dillon Dowson took the runners-up spot from fellow frontrunners Ralf Holden and Joshua Dudley, with Mia Worthington the best girl in twelfth position. First timer Lucy Rice did well to finish third girl in a very respectable 24th place.

Fresh from his overall win in the previous weekend's IOM Youth Tour, Jake Wilson took the chequered flag in the born 2003 event with a clear advantage over Jonty Bregazzi, who outgunned Jack Christian, Thomas Skillicorn, Matthew Black and series leader Percy Hampton in the gallop for second. Hampton lost ground when he pulled his foot out while challenging for the lead. Tyler Hannay led the rest of the pack home in seventh spot and Darcy Cain grabbed the girls' honours in tenth place.

Aaron Lund got the better of Will Corkill and James Harrison in the battle for the top slot in the born 2002 class. Blae Cain grabbed fourth from Corrin Leeming and the ever improving Nathanael Tyson produced his best ride of the season so far to take sixth ahead of Nicholas Kissack, Frederick Nabor and Liam Crook.

In the born 2001 age group Tosh Teare led the final charge to the line closely followed by Juan Kneen, Max Walker and Adam Scarffe, who were the survivors from an eight strong breakaway group. Emma Draper, Chloe Crellin and Emily Bridson were the top three girls in fifth, seventh and ninth positions. Matthew Draper cruised to another easy win in the born 2000 & earlier grouping. Tara Ferguson was a good second and Sam Batey the best born 2000 rider in third spot.

Charlie Gibson showed a clean pair of wheels to the dozen or so riders who contested the final sprint at the end of the under 10 racing bikes four lapper. Max Walker and Adam Scarffe filled the remaining positions on the podium and eleventh placed Chloe Crellin pipped Emily Bridson for the girls' award. In the under 12 racing bikes William Draper headed Thomas Bostock and Conor Davies in the final sprint. Sam Batey was fourth and Callum Clague, who suffered a nasty crash on the third stage of the IOM youth tour, did well to finish fifth.

Continuing the superb form that gave him a stage victory and second place on GC in the Manx youth tour, Jake Kelly lapped the field on the way to winning the hotly contested under 16 racing bikes. Josh Knights, who had managed to stay with Kelly for awhile, was a safe second and Jamie Dudley got the verdict in the bunch gallop for third. Nathan Draper was the leading under 14 rider in seventh place and Anna Christian the top girl in a very good twelfth position.
