Brendan Fairclough remained the king of Llangollen, winning round three of the British Downhill Series ahead of Gee and Dan Atherton.
On a revised Llangollen track which stayed on the hillside and out of the trees, an arid climate in recent weeks left the course deep in dust and in places, sand. This caught out coutless riders in Saturday's practice with crashes in the top and bottom sections of tight, blown out turns.
Ironically this is where Fairclough looked most comfortable, ferociously loading up into each turn and emerging somewhere out of an explosion of debris. On flat pedals Fairclough was able to ride loose and while the Atherton's were close, Brendan had the substance to back up his style for the win.
Yes...Brendan did ride this epic drifter out.
In the women's race favourite and leader of the Junior World Cup, Manon Carpenter cut the course on her race run, leaving Katy Curd to take top spot.
We'll have the full video rundown from the race along with results, soon.
