The pinnacle of cross country racing in the UK, the 2010 Brititsh XC Championships are being held on July 17-18 at the stunning Pippingford Estate, near East Grinstead and Gatwick. The weekend is being organised by SMBC, the team behind the successful 2008 edition of the event and the popular SouthernXC Series. The weekend is packed with bike-related fun for everyone from avid racers, children and beginners.
The Pippingford Estate
Pippingford is a real gem. Hidden away next to the Ashdown Forest, an area known for stunning scenery and trails, but like the New Forest ten years ago, cyclists are told to keep off! So we're really lucky to racing the Pippingford Estate. It's well worth the trip from across the country.
In the arena you're faced by a view reaching north to London's Crystal Palace, the stunning Pippingford stately home near by. When you go out on the course you start with a phenomenal descent featuring one mile of drops, big man-made berms and now a river crossing. The course then loops along some sweet singletrack, round lakes, over bridges and through streams. Then there's height to re-gain with a sizable climb back up to the arena. It really does feel more like somewhere in Wales than the south of England!

Event facilities
The event village will include full facilities including camping, showers and toilets. Camping is available on the Friday and Saturday nights for £5 per pitch per night. Catering will be available on Saturday and Sunday. In the arena you'll find the country's biggest teams, showing off their lovely race bikes and kit. There'll also be a trade stand with lots of deals on bike stuff.

Getting there
Pippingford is about 10 miles from Gatwick, south of East Grinstead. For those of you coming from afar it's possible to fly to Gatwick and get a cab or mini bus to Pippingford.
