Cycle Sportive , Brackley – Sunday, 14 Apr 2013

Event Summary

Event Overview

Ride the Rose of Shires Sportive offers 2 rides starting from the easily accessible Turweston Aerodrom near Brackley, and heads out into the very of heart of England’s countryside - Northamptonshire, England’s Rose of Shires.

The 2 routes will follow rolling country roads to offer a good early season test whilst allowing for riders still finding their legs after the winter months.  With the 90 mile EPIC offering 4800ft of climbing and the 55 mile CHALLENGE 2800ft these are challenging but sensible routes.

The rides will take in the best the south of the county has to offer with Silverstone Motor Racing circuit, Stoke Bruerne, Salcey Forest, Castle Ashby, Pitsford Reservoir, Althorp House and Canons Ashby all points of interest on a stunning, varied and quiet route before returning to the HQ.

There will be well stocked feed stations with toilets and catering will be available at the HQ prior to the start and at the finish.

Mechanical support will be available at the HQ prior to the start for any last minute tweaks to equipment and riders will be able to purchase any essential items such as bottles, nutrition, tyres and tubes if required.

A 'broom wagon' will follow the ride and offer limited mechanical support at the roadside and will ensure all riders get back to the HQ should you incur a non-repairable mechanical.
