Event Overview

The Ronde Van Calderdale 2013 will feature two ride lengths. The shorter ride will be around 40 miles taking in a mixture of tarmac and cobbled road sections in and around Calderdale with the longer route being approx 80 miles to test the skills, stamina and endurance with great scenery along the way.

The entry fee will include insurance, feed stations en route and changing facilities at Spen Valley Sport College. The longer ride will include free arm warmers with RVC and KCA branding subject to our achieving a minimum number of entries to cover costs. Some on-site parking is available, or park nearby and ride to the Sports College.

The event will be well signposted and route maps should be available.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Start time will be 9.30 for the longer ride and 10:00 for the shorter ride; Entry fees are £12 for the short route and £20 for the long route. A choice of a 40 mile or 80 mile reliability trial starting from Spen Valley Sports College (Roberttown Lane, Roberttown). This ride is a local version of the infamous Tour of Flanders and will include numerous cobbled climbs. The route will be fully sign posted but riders will also be given a route sheet. RETRO and VINTAGE KIT is welcomed but not mandatory but there will be a special prize for the best dressed rider. Check out the pictures from last years event for inspiration. Certificates will be given at the end for various finishing times and the money raised will go to Kirklees Cycling Academy. This is a ride using open roads therefore the highway code must be followed at all times.
