Back for 2025 is the Brixton Cycles Club Open Dernyfest and Women's Omnium! This is our first track event of the 2025 calendar and promises to be a great one.

The day is broken down into two events - a Derny race for the open category, and an Omnium set of races for the women's category. Both events require a British Cycling race licence, but we will accept day licences.

Racing from 11:30am til 5pm

Open Dernyfest

If you've not witnessed derny racing before, you're in for a treat! Individual riders are paced by their own 'derny' motorbike in an endurance scratch race of high speeds and thrilling finishes.  

Some key points:

• There are 27 places open to riders (3 heats of 9). The first 18 places will be awarded on a 'first come first serve' basis, and the remaining 9 places will be selected based on race category and prior results, with an emphasis on track performances
• Racers MUST have previous experience either training or racing behind the derny. There will be practice sessions held at HHV in the weeks prior to the event.

• Riders will be seeded into heats. From each heat the top two progress to the A final, 3rd and 4th to B final. Remaining riders will race a C final (subject to sufficient numbers of riders and time).
• Please let us know your preferred pacer when you enter. If you don’t have one, please contact us with plenty of time before the race and we can help find you someone.
• We cannot accept on the day entries as we need to seed riders and pair them with pacers ahead of time.

Women's Omnium

An Omnium is a series of multiple races. Podiums are based on who has gained the highest number of points across all of them. The races are challenging, fun and full of tactics!

We recommend you have prior track experience (e.g. from attending HHV race and/or training sessions) and be confident riding on the track. Please do contact us if you're unsure and we can advise!

The races will consist of:

• Scratch (first 6 riders over the line on the final lap get points)
• Tempo (1 point for the first rider over the 200m line and finish line, each lap)
• Devil (rear most rider is eliminated each lap)
• Points (top 4 riders get points, every X number of laps depending on race length)

We will accept entries on the day for the Women's Omnium.
