About the Event

Info for Riders

GANNETT CC HELL OF THE NORTH HEREFORDSHIRE RR

Course:
Norton Cannon
Summary: The Norton Canon course is a recent addition, first used in 2024. It’s rolling with three draggy climbs; the front derailleur will be used mainly for decoration here. The run out from the end of the neutral through the finish is mainly flat until the Sarnesfield cross road, then descents into the Wye Valley. That’s followed by the short steep push up Tin Hill and a high speed descent before the long drag up to the finish through Mansel Gamage.

Finish: is flat but coming at the top of the drag it takes a bit of effort for the sprinters to hang on; the turn over the old railway onto the A480 is handy for a last ditch attack.

Suits: puncheurs, rouleurs, sprinters who can get over a hill.

Recent winners: first race on this course was the Gannet race in 2024 won by Ben Pierce from Charlie Genner after a lengthy break.

Total Length: 23.8 km Max Slope: 9 % Total Ascent: 213 m
