Clydesdale Colts - Ignite Closed Road Crit

Closed Circuit , Cambuslang, Glasgow – Saturday, 02 Sep 2023

Event Summary

Event Overview

What is Ignite?
Ignite is a closed-circuit road race at the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service Campus in Cambuslang.
This is a much-loved and unique venue for a road race. The SFRS Campus is their training centre for Scotland, as such it features a 'town' complete with roads, shops, houses, train station, even a motorway! This allows SFRS to train for every eventuality and we are very fortunate they allow us use of the campus for the day to run this event. It is as close to racing in a real town as it is possible to be, without either risking traffic or being in the Tour de France!

Juniors - U18 - born 2005 or 2006
Youth A - U16 - born 2007 or 2008
Youth B - U14 - born 2009 or 2010
Youth C - U12 - born 2011 or 2012
Youth D - U10 - born 2013 or 2014
Youth E - U8 - born 2015 onwards

Do I need a road bike?
It is not essential but you will probably find you are faster if you have one!
Many racers have entered this event on their mountain bikes and cyclocross bikes in the past.

Please enter before the cut off date (28th August) as no entries can be accepted after this date or on the day.
