Info for Riders

Please read carefully!

Application for a ride - note that these cluster sessions can often "sell out" for novice and intermediate groups.  When you click the "Enter" button, I can't guarantee that you will get an allocated place at the event.  I will allocate available places according to the priorities described below, but otherwise on a first-come-first-served basis.

Acceptance - Priority for acceptance to this event will initially go to riders from the clubs that are providing volunteers to deliver the session.  I will then give priority to the WM Cluster clubs that have a track record of organising and providing coaches for Cluster Sessions.  I will then allocate places to riders from the remaining West Midlands Cluster clubs.

West Midlands Cluster clubs are: Newport Shropshire, Redditch, Solihull, Halesowen, Stratford, Lyme, Lichfield, Mid Shropshire Wheelers, Beacon Roads CC, Wolverhampton, Kettering CC, Milton Keynes.

If riders from those clubs don't take all available spaces by two weeks to go we will accept applications from riders who are members of Go-Ride clubs outside the region. Preference will be given to riders from clubs within the Derby Track Cluster scheme.

Riders will then be accepted, in order of entry date, for unfilled spaces in each ability group. (For example, the first entered Intermediate rider would take priority over an earlier entered Novice rider if there was space in Intermediate, but not Novice. Hope that makes sense?).

To be clear, West Midlands riders will have no priority over riders from other Clusters after the two week cut off, so the onus is on them to enter before this date. Even then, acceptance is not guaranteed as groups may fill with West Mids riders who entered earlier.

Acceptance remains at the discretion of the organiser.  We reserve the right to alter the size and number of ability groups at any time.

Bike/Shoe Hire - Bike/shoe hire is included in the entry fee. If you have shoes fitted with Look Keo cleats, please bring them along. There may be a limited supply of hire bikes in some sizes, necessitating the sharing of bikes between riders in different groups. Therefore, if you have your own track bike or access to a club loan bike it will be worthwhile bringing them.

Novice Riders - please let us know the level of track riding experience. This is because we may split the group into those with some experience and complete novices.

Age - Riders must be aged from 9 to 16 years on the date of the event.

Important - Please bring a completed Parental Consent Form. If you need to download one, go to:
