Finsbury Park Cycling Club Women's Road Race (90km)

FPCC are delighted to promote a women's race this year.  The event will run on 16 April 2023, 2:30pm and is Regional A classification open to Senior and Junior female 2nd, 3rd and 4th category riders with a Full Racing Licence or holders of a Day Licence.

We are using the Wendens Ambo course near Saffron Walden allowing for a maximum of 60 riders.  It's an undulating circuit that offers good racing and is enjoyed by riders.

The event will be 90km including seven laps of the circuit.

Prizes will be awarded down to 10th position.  Additionally, there will be prizes for the Prime, first Junior and first 4th Cat rider.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Sign-on opens at 12.45pm and closes at 2:00pm at which time reserve places will be allocated and entries on the day accepted.  On the line entries will be on a first come first served basis at £35 and those seeking EOL should sign-on as soon as they arrive at HQ.  

PLEASE NOTE re EOL:      We are unable to accept EOL/Day Licence payment with credit card.  Please ensure you bring the correct cash amount on the day.

A day licence can be bought for £10 (£5 for Juniors), with half price for Gold and Silver BC members.  A single day licence does not earn the rider any ranking points.   

Any rider falling more than 5 minutes behind the race may be removed.

There will be a broom wagon to help riders who have mechanicals or are dropped to get back to the HQ and/or make repairs but they will not be replacing wheels.

Cambridge CC’s men’s event is on the same circuit and same HQ in the morning. Please respect their use of the hall prior to our official registration time.  A separate women’s changing room is available.

Please park considerately. Riders must leave room for the convoy to pass through the car park. Please leave spaces nearest the HQ building for race officials

Please join us for tea, coffee, and food at the HQ afterwards. 

A professional photographer will be taking pictures on the day and these will be made available after the race (details to be provided).

Please remember we share the roads with drivers and locals. Do not throw gel wrappers on the road. Any rider being discourteous to a member of the public will be disqualified and fined regardless of the circumstances.
