WigmoreCC, RochesterCC and WCC Go-Ride present a brand new club event for summer, in the form of the Club "Track" Championships 2022 race event.

  On Sunday 17th July, we'll descend upon the Cyclopark to race in circles, round and round the Oval Circuit (E).  We'll race a series of 5 track style races, forming a traditional Omnium competition, across 7 categories. 

  The competition is open to all WigmoreCC, RochesterCC and WCC Go-Ride members only.  Entry is via the British Cycling online system, with only very limited entry on the day available.

To keep the racing fun and fair, riders will be split into ability/experience groups.

• Mens A:- Advance riders, with good track skills and experience of fast races 
• Mens B:- Intermediate pace riders, some experience of racing
• Mens C:- Slower/older riders, new to group racing
• Womens:- A dedicated category for all our women riders
• Go-Ride 1:- Older youth riders, fastest riders with experience racing   
• Go-Ride 2:- Middle group youth, some race experience, getting more and more confident
• Go-Ride 3:- Youngest youth riders, slower and/or novice riders just starting out

 We're aiming for 5-10 riders per race, so pick the category that best fits your ability.  All entries will be reviewed by the organising team to ensure you'll be racing against riders your peers of similar ability.  This way you'll get the most out of it and hopefully have a ton of fun.

 This is meant to be a fun and enjoyable event... competitive, but all good hearted.  No matter your ability or experience, there'll be something for you and someone to race against.

ONLINE ENTRY: Adult £10, Youth £5

ON THE DAY: Adult £15, Youth £7

Racing will be on Road bikes, CX bikes, MTB bikes, or any other 2 wheeled bike with 2 brakes.

Absolutely no Track or Fixed Gear bikes.

Traditional Omnium Race Formats

• 200m Sprint TT - a short sharp individual timed sprint 
• Scratch Race - simple mass start race... first across the finish line wins
• Elimination Race - each lap, the last rider to cross the finish line is eliminated
• Keiran Race - the pace of the first few laps is controlled, leading into a frantic final few sprint laps
• Points Race - 5, 3, 2, & 1 points awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th across the line... every other lap

 Trophies will be awarded to the winner of each category, along side medals for 2nd and 3rd.    There'll be spot 'Sportsmanship' Awards for mens, womens and youth... awarded for putting in a great effort, being bold, or generally just embracing the spirit of friendly competition.

 Sign-on will be from 12pm at the Cyclopark Pavillion, with rider safety briefing at 12:45pm.  The 'track' opens at 1pm for warmup, with racing starting promptly at 1:15pm.  Go-Ride races will be stacked earlier on in the afternoon, with a presentation at about 3pm.  Adult races will be spread throughout the afternoon, with racing finishing by 5pm.  (full timings TBC)
