York Youth & Junior Track Racing is designed to give riders competitive racing. We are running the events on various Friday evenings throughout the Summer at the 250m outdoor velodrome located at York Sport's Village (weather permitting). 

We will operate two ability based groups for riders who are u12, u14, u16, or Junior. This should deliver competitive racing as well as enabling proficient riders from the younger age groups to get a taste of the action.

Info for Riders

Entry is only via the BC website, with entry closing a couple of days before the event so the volunteers have time to organise the racing. There is no 'on the day' entry.

Groups:

We will split the riders into two groups based on ability. These are not fixed and can be changed at the organisers discretion in order to keep racing competitive and safe. We aim to give each group 4 races at each event. Riders MUST adhere to BC regulations regarding equipment, including gearing. Checks will be made which could result in a rider being excluded from an event with no refund - it is the rider's responsibility to ride safely and in accordance with BC regulations.

Accreditation:

We do not require riders to be accredited, but all riders will need to prove they have a strong level of track experience. With Youth and Junior racing our number 1 priority is safety.

Scoring:

Each evening is a stand alone event - this is not a league. We will crown a winner of each group at the end of the evening's events

Timings:

6.00pm: Sign on opens

6.30pm: On track warm up (separate times for each group)

6.45pm: Racing begins

8.30pm: Finish
