A 4-week series of Closed Circuit Racing this summer on Thursday evenings for 3rd & 4th category and Master riders. This is being held on the purpose built 1.5km road circuit at the Odd Down Sports Ground, Bath, BA2 2PR. 



Dates of the series are as follows:

Week 1 – 15/07/21 (3/4 cat, Masters C+ Men, Masters Women 30 yrs+)
Week 2 – 29/07/21 (3/4 cat, Masters C+ Men, Masters Women 30 yrs+)
Week 3 - 12/08/21 (3/4 cat, Masters C+ Men, Masters Women 30 yrs+)
Week 4 - 26/08/21(3/4 cat, Masters C+ Men, Masters Women 30 yrs+)

Race Program for this 4th round has been amended due to lack of daylight: 


17:50 - Master Women 30yrs+ (35 mins + 3 laps)

18:30 - 3/4 Category Riders – (35 mins + 3 laps)


19:20 - Masters C+ - (35 mins + 3 laps)



*All race durations and start times are subject to change due to factors including light and weather conditions, as well as the progression of other events in the program. 



Entry fee via the British Cycling online entry system for all races is £15. The Day Entry fee will be £20. Online Entry will close the day before the event at midnight. Places in all races are available on a first come-first served basis and there is no guarantee of the availability of Day Entries.

Prizes:

Prize money will be awarded based on overall position in the series after 4 rounds. All rounds will count towards a rider's score. No on the night prizes for the individual races, there are series prizes only. Prizes will be awarded as follows:

Series prizes for all of race series (all 4 races in the series to count towards the series points):

Overall:
1st £100 + winners jersey + prize
2nd £60 + PDQ jersey
3rd £40 + prize
4th £20 + prize
5th £10 + prize
6th £10 + prize

For the Master men and women also:

50-60yr Series:
1st £25

60-70yr Series:
1st £25

70+yr Series:
1st £25

Best Team (3 riders per round to count for mens series, 2 riders to count for women’s series. There must be 3 riders every round, or 2 for the women, to count towards the team competition):

Info for Riders

Please note that the site management still do not want cycling shoes to be worn in the pavilion. We appreciate that this is inconvenient but this policy applies across all sports including rugby and football etc. Sign on will be located in the PDQ gazebo beside the circuit. Please exit the circuit promptly following your race, to ensure the race program can continue without becoming affected by light conditions. Riders waiting to enter the circuit, please leave space for riders to exit.

To enable racing to take place, a thorough COVID Risk Assessment has been conducted, where we each have a role to play.

Along with British Cycling and the management at Odd Down Cycle Circuit, PDQ Cycle Coaching have worked hard to put these events on, so please adhere to the following guidelines so we can continue to race in the sport we love.

Please follow these simple guidelines;

1. When you arrive, please park, collect your numbers and return straight back to your car. 

2. You now have two options.  Either sit in your car or leave the facility to warm up.  Please ride alone.

3. You need to return to the facility more than 5 minutes before your race start time but less than 10 minutes.  

4. Please be at the start line 5 minutes before your start time.  A video of all the riders will be taken to aid the judges in producing an accurate result. 

5. You will enter the track in single file.  Ride a lap of the circuit anti-clockwise and start on the commissaires whistle. 

6. You will race for 40 minutes plus 3 laps (35mins plus 3 laps for the women).

7. Once your race has finished, do not stop.  Please exit the track in a single file.

8. Results – please do not speak to any member of event staff regarding the event result.  The results will be emailed to you with in 24 hours.  The event result is final.  There will be no prizes for individual events, all prizes are based on series standings.

9. If you have a 2nd race your options between races are the same as when you first turn up. 

10. If you have finished for the night, please drop your number into the bucket supplied.  We will disinfect them ready for our next race day. 

11. Please exit the facility ASAP.
