Betteshanger Country Park is a well known, popular road racing, mtb and cyclocross venue that has hosted many competitive events since 2006.

We have worked with Betteshanger Country Park and with British Cycling to ensure that the Covid-19 guidance is followed. A risk assessment has been carried out and a number of measures will be put in place to keep everyone who attends as safe as possible. Here are some of those measures.

There will be a limit of 45 riders in each race, please note the event timings and race programme have changed for the 2020-21 season.

Competitors are asked to time their arrival and departure to minimize the time they spend on site. They are also requested not to bring anyone to the event who does not need to come.  Obvious exceptions to that are parents or guardians and fellow competitors who are member of the same household or ‘social bubble’.

Spectating is discouraged.  Please do not bring race helpers . There will be no pits and no bike changes will be allowed during races. Riders are encouraged to bring rollers or static trainer to warm-up prior to their race.

Everyone on-site will be expected to observe social distancing guidelines and to limit unnecessary contact with others.  Competitors are required to bring a mask / face covering with them and to use it during rider registration and whilst in the event area.

Each set of races (those starting within a few minutes of each other) will be treated as a separate ‘race bubble’ for any subsequent Track and Trace activity that may need to take place.

Info for Riders

If you have coronavirus symptoms - DO NOT ATTEND THE EVENT

• a high temperature
• a new, continuous cough
• a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

You are requested to maintain social distance at all times while at the venue

Wearing of Masks & Face Coverings is a Mandatory Requirement for all riders and spectators whilst attending the event, the only expection is for competitors warming-up / course practice / gridding / racing

Race Numbers will be availble 1 hour before the start of each race at EVENT HQ therefore you are advised not to arrive any earlier than this at the venue.

Competitors will be required to complete a Temperature Check at EVENT HQ prior to recieving a race number

Open to riders from British Cycling South East Region this is to reduce uncessary travel and to protect riders, officials and volunteers

It is no longer possible to Enter on the Day

You will need to hold a valid British Cycling Membership to enter this event it applies to all race categories

EKCX Race Regulations for 2020-21 Season will be issued by email after your entry has been confirmed by the Event Organiser

Adults are responsible for their children at all times on-site, you will be asked to leave the site if you are unable to comply with this regulation and control children

All non-race clothing and drinks must be discarded before moving to the starting grid. There will be no time to do this on the grid - as would normally be the case. In order to avoid unnecessary close-contact, the race will be started as soon as everyone is in their starting grid position.
