Event Overview

This is a Cluster 3 Go-Ride Track session for members of clubs on the Go-Ride track cluster programme.  You must be aged between 9 and 16 on the day of the session to participate.  Priority will be given to riders from Cluster 3 clubs (Leicester Forest, Witham Wheelers, Heanor, VC Lincoln, Mansfield Tri Club, Matlock, Stratford).

Entries from clubs in other clusters will be accepted, but priority will be given to riders from the Cluter 3 clubs

Please select the correct grouping for yourself based on track ability as instructed by coaches.  If you are still unsure, please contact the event organiser before booking on to the event. Groups may be re-organised by coaches on the day depending on ability and experience of riders.

Info for Riders

These sessions are aimed at developing  technique and skill on the velodrome.

Track bikes are available for hire at no extra cost.  Hire bikes have Look Keo pedals so cycling shoes must have compatible cleats.  Shoes with compatible cleats can be hired at no extra cost

There will be three groups wil be working on a 20min rotation basis which will ensure that each group gets 1 hour of track time. Each group will work with the same coach over the full 3 hour session to ensure riders are benefitting from coach experience on and off the track.

Novice Group - This session is for riders aged 9-16 who have no or little prior track riding experience.

Intermediate Group - This session is for riders aged 9-16 who have and moderate track riding experience and have been moved up from the Novice Group by a Cluster coach.

Advanced Group - This group is for riders aged 9-16 who have a lot of experience in track cycling.  This group will be focussing on racing and will only be open to strong, highly capable riders with significant track experience who have been approved to ride in the Advanced group by a Cluster Coach
