The 2019 British Paracycling TT Championships are being held in the beautiful Towy Valley, near Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, with the HQ/Race Finish at Gelli Aur Campus, Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire SA32 8NJ

The campus is a purpose built complex which is also home to the 211 hectare college farm. Situated in the fertile Tywi valley, three miles from Llandeilo and 14 miles from Carmarthen. The agricultural college has excellent facilities and easy access for wheel chair users. Plenty of on-site parking with the finish line a few metres from the event HQ.

The event is for cyclists in all classifications. Trikes, Recumbents, Handcycles, Bikes and Tandems.

The back part of both courses follow the same route as taken on Stage 1 of the Tour of Britain 2018 and the routes were also used for The British TT Championships in 2010 won by Bradley Wiggins. 

Plenty of viewing points and refreshment opportunities along both routes for spectators. Both routes offer something to suit the strengths of every rider and will be a fair test to determine the 2019 champions in the various classifications.

The college has excellent facilities with plenty of parking and good wheelchair access.

There will be free tea/coffee and Welsh Cakes for every rider at registration as a welcome to Wales! There will be refreshments prepared by club members available post ride for a small charge.

The start is half a mile away from the college entrance up a gradient (ideal as part of your warm up), so please allow plenty of time to get to the start ramp. The final 300 metres of the TT are on a private college access road, free of traffic and the Finish Gantry is just metres away from the Race HQ.

Course Descriptions

Trikes and possibly some of the Handcyclists (to be determined by British Cycling) will use the short course, whilst all other competitors will use the longer course. Both courses have very fast sections and the road surface, especially on the A40 is excellent. There are two small kicks on the short route (50 metres each) and a short drag of 400 metres just over a mile from the finish. The longer route is very fast but has two 400 metre drags on the approach to half way and a short kick on the final turn before heading for home on the B4300. The return run on this road is quick but slightly undulating.

The courses have been chosen to provide something for all sorts of rider and the feedback we have had from recce runs has been very favourable and are considered amongst the best ever used for a Championship TT.
