Tour of the Cornfields 2019

Offroad Endurance , Cambridgeshire – Sunday, 01 Sep 2019

Event Summary

Event Overview

The original and super popular Tour of Cornfields returns on Sunday 1 September 2019! Organised once again by the team that runs London's Beastway series and cyclocross races for LVYCC in the Eastern League cyclocross.

Suitable for gravel bikes, cyclo-cross, MTB, hybrids and sturdy road bikes, this 100+ km off-road route loops around the bridleways, byways, lanes and minor roads in beautiful countryside of four counties between Cambridge, Sandy, Huntingdon and Royston. Your start is at the prestigious country estate of Wimpole Hall where there is dedicated event parking and lots for the whole family to do all day. There is the half-way cake stop at a wonderful church hall with a secure paddock. oh, and what lovely cakes they are....!

We also offer a 50km option which still gets you to all the important places.

Online routes for previous editions are all out of date. Only entrants will receive the full route info on the eve of our event. Make sure you supply an active email address for us to send you the route details.

You can ride at your own pace or team up with others as you follow the route we issue for GPS on the eve of the event. We also provide the route for your smartphone as routes and a map image. Our signage scheme is minimal but effective when we tell you what to look for.

A new route has been recce'd for this year's edition. The event has been run since 2006 and this year's route works new variations in with old favourites. Once again all proceeds from this event will support the Eastern Region 'Contenders' cyclocross training days for youth riders run by Mark Wyer. We are proud to have made these effective training sessions possible. Look out for dates and details.

Many riders choose to bring the whole family as Wimpole is a great place to stay and play all day while riders do their thing. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/wimpole-estate
