Event Summary

Event Overview

Long term race and ride promoters the West Drayton MBC promote this road sportive for the 8th consecutive year , the ride has two distances to choose from, the full 100km and a shorter 85 km , both rides will feature some of the iconic Chiltern Hills,

The long event which has over 3000ft of climbing  commences with a relatively flat start which gets tougher in the last half as the ride goes over Bledlow Ridge which will no doubt see some riders reaching for the granny gear, after Bledlow the climbs start coming faster as the rides continues towards Marlow and back via Gerrards Cross to finish at the Chiltern Social Club where there will be homemade cakes and refreshments to aid the recovery. The HQ also has the use of a licensed bar, for those not driving to have a celebratory drink whilst they recount their war stories with their fellow riders.

Although not a race there are 3 time standards to aim for in the 100km event Gold under 3.5hrs, Silver under 4.15 and Bronze under 5hrs.

The event last year was praised for the clear route marking and the club aim to keep the same standards up for this year, pre entered riders will be sent a link to a GPS file.
The event will be limited in terms of numbers with a maximum field of 300 riders. the routes will be signposted and GPS files will be available and sent out to pre entered riders.

This will be a ride to test yourself over the distance, no food stops will be provided but there will be plenty of food at the HQ for pre and post event carbs as well as the provision of a licensed bar for those not driving back.

This event has now been run for the last 4 years with people complementing the event for the friendly atmosphere and well marked challenging route

This year the event again starts from the Chiltern Sports and Socail Club Maple Lodge , Maple Cross which is easily accesible from the M25 /M40 the  rides will follow last years route
