Event Overview

The Welsh cycling Dirt Crit Final will consist of a skills competition on Flat pedals  where the riders will be put through their paces against the clock and deducted points for each skill if the rider fails to complete the skill.

Then when the results have been added up it will determine the gridding position for the Dirt crit race.

The racing will be from under 8s all the way to u16s minimum age is 7. The riders will have to be able to ride their bikes independently no assistance what so ever and be able to stop using both brakes without any hesitation.

The coaching session: There will be specific coaching for this however there will be time to practice on both the skills course and the Dirt crit circuit; Coaches will be on hand to offer guidance and to help the riders as much as possible. 

The skills course

There will be 6 skill sections all of which will include and element of the rider core MTB skills. Riders will start with 12 points and decreased for each skill failed. Riders will also be timed. This will determine their gridding position for the following dirt crit. ALL RIDERS MUST RIDE FLAT PEDALS FOR THE SKILLS COURSE

The Dirt Crit: The course will consist of some climbing and fun filled descents and some fast sections of single track  and will have a minimum of 1 A line and 1 B  line the length of the course can vary the course will be no longer than a 10 min lap for under 16 s .

10:00-11:00 Course practise for skills & Dirt Crit course

11:00 – 12:15 Skills Course test

12:30 -13:30 Dirt Crit course race

13:30 – 14:00 Presentation

There will be prizes and a certificate  for 1st to 3rd at each event there are no British cycling points awardred and no series award.
