This will be the seventh night time race at this popular race venue, going away from the ususal long endurance based night events this is short cross country racing, blasting round the forest trails of the park where quick reactions and fitness along wth bike handling skills will be at a premium.

The event is held at Black Park Country Park, which is situated between Uxbridge and Slough in West London and easily accessible being close to the M40, M4 and the M25

Race distances will be 9 miles for the fun classes, 12miles for the vets and grd vets and 15 for those more experienced at racing.

The races start at 8 p.m. and with long term sponsors The Specialized Concept Store Ruislip and the Bucks Off Road Sportive those at the sharp end will be well rewarded in addition to the celebration champagne presented on the podium.

It goes without saying that good lights are recommended or make sure you have eaten a lot of carrots!

The Black Park circuit has been used for Mountain Bike racing for the last 11 years and has hosted rounds of the Southern XC series, and although flat the venue has some superb single track with a number of bomb holes to keep riders on their toes.

The venue benefits from a good hardstanding car park and purpose built toilets .

For those wanting a sneak preview of the course in daylight there will be some rides around the race circuit leading up to race night

Info for Riders

The race cct is in a Country park however the racing starts when the park closes and darkness falls. The venue always produces some fast close racing, if you have never tried XC racing in the dark this is the event for you, get the buzz of riding the tight single track at speed, enjoy the bomb holes and the fire tracks in the dark.
