Event Overview
Sams Ride 2017 is a charity Cycle Sportive in aid of the Salisbury and District Samaritans around quiet roads in the Hampshire and Wiltshire countryside that will take place on Sunday 21st May 2017 from 0830 onwards.
Now in its third year and firmly established as one of the premier charity cycle sportives in the South, whatever your cycling standard or requirement, we hope you will join us to make this a memorable day. There are three choices of route - whether you are up to the challenge to take part in the SERIOUS 100 mile ride, the SPORTY 50 mile ride or the SENSIBLE 25 Mile ride – there is something for everyone.
Promising a professionally organised Sportive with up to 800 riders including the following:
- Three marked out courses for 100, 50 and 25 miles. Designated routes will be accompanied by .gpx map files prior to the event
- Rest and refuel stations at regular intervals with free refreshments and toilets
- Public liability insurance *
- Ride HQ: Start and finish point with:
- Registration desk for all participants to collect a rider pack that includes
- Wristband for participant identification
- Laminated bike number and ties
- Parking
- Tented registration cover
- Breakfast (self-purchase)
- Toilet and changing facilities
- Water on tap
- First Aid station
- Bicycle stand racking
- Mechanical support
- On course
- Marshalls at key crossing points
- Good route signage with hazard markings
- Feed stations
- Cycle repair and support
- Emergency support and First Aid
- Broom wagon to sweep up stranded riders
- Post finish
- Post-race meal (Included in entry fee)
- Event memento
- Post event bar
