Event Overview
The Braveheart Ride is a fantastic opportunity for you to contribute directly to the development of Scotland's future cycling champions. All proceeds raised from the event go to up and coming Scottish cycling talent.The Braveheart Fund provides financial assistance to 10 - 15 riders each year enabling them to train and compete at their highest level within the sport.
This year's Ride will again have a rolling road closure on the nearside lane. The course takes in some of the attractive scenery on offer in East Ayrshire. Leaving Kilmarnock, the route travels via Galston, Newmilns, before the climb over Windyedge & down to Sorn. Another climb out of Sorn, towards Muirkirk, then turning left through Cronberry to Auchinleck & Catrine. Some further climbing on these quiet country roads, then takes us northwards back to Galston, where we retrace our outward route back to the start/finish on Grassyards Road in Kilmarnock.
The event entry fee will include a commemorative medal and each rider will also receive a food voucher for pasta & a hot or cold drink.
