We had such a great response from last year’s ride we are bringing it back!

The principle is the same, to ride through all the villages with an Ipswich Hospital ward name in common - that’s 25 villages!

The ride will take you on a journey around the beautiful Suffolk countryside exploring all the villages that are wards at the hospital, to truly connect with our community. Our Chief Executive will be riding the whole way to enact health in our community.

We have a number of different registration options:

• Ultimate 3 day challenge - cycle the full 210 miles

• Weekend option - cycle 130 miles over 2 days

• Sunday option - cycle the final 58 miles

• Ride too long? You can cycle our new 20 Mile Sunday Community Ride

We are really keen, please for all our cyclists to help fundraise for The Ipswich Hospital Charity as part of your challenge. It is not compulsory to fundraise in order to take part. However we are hoping that each cyclist will enter the spirit of things and raise between £50 and £150.

Everything the event makes goes back to the hospital charity and towards making a difference to patient experience.

On Day One (Friday 24th June) and Day Two (Saturday 25th June) there will be a morning tea and lunch stop for you to refuel, Day Three (Sunday 26th June) will also have a morning food stop and a BBQ celebration back at the hospital at the end of the ride.

Anyone is welcome to ride the 'Connecting With Our Community' Sportive but there are a few conditions:

• Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult

• Under 18s must present a signed parental consent form

• Irrespective of age, it is the responsibility of the rider or their parent / guardian to decide which route is suited to their ability

Info for Riders

There are four options:

• 3 day sportive covering over 200 miles

• 2 day sportive (25^th & 26^th June) covering 130 miles

• 1 day sportive covering the final 58 miles

• Our new 20 Mile Sunday Community Ride

All days start and finish at Ipswich Hospital,  6:30am sign in, the community ride starts at 9:00am. including feed stations every 20 to 30 miles. Online registration closes on the 20th June. If you would like to register after this date please email charity@ipswichhospital.nhs.uk and we will see what is possible. You cannot register on the day so please make sure you register before the 20th June.

This sportive is being organised in accordance with British Cycling's event guidance, which includes the cyclists riding at their own risk obeying the highway code and riding safely, including wearing a helmet.
