Please note: For 2016 we are not organising the Masters Championships for Women. For Males aged 55+, on 29 April we took the decision to cancel the planned Under 23 race, and at short notice reallocated that race slot to the Male 55+ age group.  

The North Bucks Festival of Cycling is an extensive weekend of racing incorporating the National Masters Road Race Championships for Male riders aged 30-54, a round of the National Women's Road Race Series, an Under 23 race and a supporting 2/3/4 category race (part of the newly formed Central Road Race League) - 7 races in total. With our past successes and this format we fully anticipate over 500 competitors over the weekend - which in road racing participation terms is huge.

All races will be run to the same standards of safety and organisation appropriate to a National Championship including Accredited Marshals (next best thing to closed roads), NEG, Neutral Service and 2x2 Mobile First Aid crews and professional Traffic Management at one critical roundabout. We also have an excellent HQ, based on the course and close to the finish - which is in a different place to 2015 and closer to the village of Newton Longville.

We have an excellent relationship with Thames Valley Police (TVP) wherein we continue to receive a special dispensation to run concurrent events. For both National Events if we are over subscribed I will be required to choose the best field. However I am hopeful of minimising this as we have also received a second dispensation from TVP to an increase in field size per race to 80.

Entries will open AT 12 noon on 4th January 2016 and close at Noon on Sunday 1st May. There will be NO late entries or on the day entries for the Masters Championships.

Masters who are 2/3/4 cats may wish to enter the CRRL event on Sunday 29 May. However please note that if the event is oversubscribed that preference will be given to CRRL clubs. If you enter both events, you will receive a £10 refund on race day.

For the National Masters and the Women's Race confirmed acceptance will only take place after closing date as the best field must be chosen. For the Masters, in reality, having obtained approval for bigger fields this is unikely to be an issue. Only on acceptance will payment be taken. We anticipate confirming acceptance within 48 hrs of the closing date.

 Masters Categories are: A 30-34; B 35-39; C 40-44; D 45-49; E 50-54. Age is based on year rather than the precise date. Thus at one end you could be 29 but if you will be 30 by 31 December you will be deemed an A cat and can enter. And at the other end, if you turn 55 before 31 December you will be deemed an F cat (and the system will not accept your entry). F+ cats now have their own Championship on Sunday 29 May.
