Organised by Hadleigh Cycling Club and forming part of the Hadleigh Cycling Festival, the second Gayford Flyer will take place on Sunday September 18th 2016. 

Like its namesake the routes will originate from the historic market town of Hadleigh, Suffolk. Heading out into the idyllic South Suffolk countryside, riders will enjoy quiet country lanes and some of the counties hidden gems.

**UPDATE 05.09.2016' 'Unfortunately we've been informed by Suffolk County Council of a road closure for Sunday 18th Sept. We've therefore had to take the decision to re route the Spitfire ride to completely avoid the Lavenham area. The revised route is 88km and continues to use some of Suffolk's finest country roads. With 2400 Ft of climbing it should still give riders a challenging day in the saddle!'

Info for Riders

The Gayford Flyer named in recognition of Hadleigh's world record breaking aviator, Oswald Gayford returns for a 2^nd year! The routes will take riders past landmarks including the Gayford family home, Oswald Gayford's final resting place in Naughton Churchyard, RAF Rattlesden and RAF Wattisham (where he served as commander). The 52km and 96km routes pass through some of South Suffolk's finest countryside before you'll head back to Hadleigh for some post ride refreshments. Helmets compulsory. All riders under 18 must submit a consent form completed by their parent/guardian (forms will be supplied by the event organisers prior to event). Riders under 16 must also be accompanied by a parent/guardian with a valid entry.
