Riders please note that the schedule is now available - see updates - entry to trackside will be from 1:00 (no earlier please - respect others using the track) - Racing will start at 2:00 sharp therefore we have an hour for preparation and warm up.

Scottish Cycling - National Ominium Events (Pilot)

This event is a 'test event' for a regular once a month Saturday track racing opportunity in Scotland at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.

The racing will be on an Omnium theme and each group will be doing the following - if time allows:-

Time Trial - 500m or 1K

Elimination Race

Scratch Race

Sprint or Keirin

Points Race

Points structure

The results of each event within each Omnium Round will carry the following points- 

1^st 1 Point; 2^nd 2 Points; 3^rd 3 Points etc.

Where a number of riders cannot be placed individually, all riders in such a group should be awarded the same number of points as the highest placed rider in that group.

The rider with the lowest cumulative points total will be declared winner. In cases of equality of points, placing of each rider in the final completed event run shall determine the final overall placing of those riders.  

The breakdown of the Youth events will be finalised once final numbers are received - Youth A and B riders may compete together and Youth C,D,E riders may compete together - final details will be sent to riders with the rider briefing and start sheets.

Womens event is subject to entry numbers - if insufficient entries received those entered may be asked to compete with the Youth A riders.

Volunteers

We would welcome some assistance from volunteers - if you are available to help please email events@scottishcycling.org.uk.  Duties include helping spectators, helping riders in registration and trackside, preparing the track for racing, results distribution.

Info for Riders

Please be aware that all riders taking part in this event and our National Track league events must by fully accredited through the Glasgow Life process. When arriving at the venue you must report to the reception for an accreditation check before proceeding to the track centre for normal race sign on. The breakdown of the Youth events will be finalised once final numbers are received - Youth A and B riders may compete together and Youth C,D,E riders may compete together - final details will be sent to riders with the rider briefing and start sheets.
