The National Disability and Para-cycling Road Series returns in April with an extended calendar of six rounds and 11 races for riders to enjoy, including this year’s national championships in West Yorkshire.
The series begins on the weekend of 20-21 April, kicking off with a circuit race at Harvey Hadden Sports Village in the East Midlands on Saturday, before a time-trial in Seagrave on Sunday. Riders will then travel to Bath to compete in a circuit race at the Odd Down Sports Ground on Saturday 11 May for round two.
Rounds three and four of the series in West Yorkshire will double up as the national championships for both circuit and time-trial disciplines.
Last year’s winners included world champions Fin Graham and William Bjergfelt, and the battle for this year’s jerseys will take place over the weekend of 1-2 June. The circuit races will take place at Wyke Community Sport Village on Saturday, before the time-trials in Knaresborough on Sunday.
The fourth round of the series in North Yorkshire will see circuit riders tackle the flat and fast course at Middlesborough Sports Village on Saturday 20 July, before riders then tackle the Yorkshire hills on the time-trial course in North Cowton on Sunday 21 July.
Riders will then travel to the south west to compete in the fifth round time-trial in Ermington on Saturday 14 September, and those looking for a challenge will double up with the circuit race at Torbay Velopark on Sunday 15 September.
The final round will see the overall series winners crowned at York Sports Village, which will play host to a time-trial on Saturday 21 September and circuit race on Sunday 22 September.
Thanks to our inclusive club programme Limitless, we have been able to provide cycling opportunities across the country for disabled people, regardless of age, impairment and ability. We have created a network of 50 inclusive clubs to break down barriers, inspire change and create more opportunities for 1,200 disabled people, from grassroots rides to introducing racing to the National Disability and Para-cycling Series.
