Newquay-based rider Matt Loake took victory in the Taunton Night Cross, staged at Castle School Sports Centre in Somerset on Saturday evening.

The 32-year-old Southfork Racing man (pictured above) crossed the line comfortably ahead of his rivals, with Roy Wyle-Smith (Elite Velo) taking second spot, 1:48 behind.

Wyle-Smith was just four seconds ahead of Tim Carpenter (Empella Cyclo-Cross.com) in third, who held off Cyclogic’s Stuart Pickering by just three more seconds in a tight battle for second place.
