Supporting Female Riders – Adolescence into early adulthood

Navigation:
Home » Education & Courses » Coaching

This course is the first of its kind for British Cycling and has been designed primarily for coaches who are supporting young female riders, who are going through adolescence or early adulthood. We hope it will give you more information about what they are experiencing and how you can best help them.

There are printable resources to help increase awareness and open up conversations on specific topics including menstrual cycle, female specific kit and equipment, REDs, female nutrition and environment.

The content has been created in partnership with The Well HQ and Dr Emma Ross, Dr Briar Rudsits, GBCT Physiologist and Tiffany Fletcher, British Cycling Talent Coach.

Who are The Well HQ?

"Baz, Bella and Emma – the coach, the GP and the scientist. Independently, all three of us have worked with women for decades – training athletes, teaching body literacy and trying to smash the taboos that block progress.

The Well HQ is built on cutting-edge science, expertise and experience. Through community, resources and support for women and those who work closely with women, we can bridge the knowledge gap."
